Central Development Corporation Ltd. is a community focused, not-for-profit organization located in Central Bedeque, PEI.
Purpose and Objectives of the Corporation are as follows:
To construct, acquire, and manage industrial or commercial facilities and to lease premises for industrial or commercial uses. To assist in facilitating social, community and economic development and employment opportunities in the East Prince/West Queens region of Prince Edward Island.
Central Development Corporation (CDC) is one of four economic development agencies responsible for facilitating social, community and economic development across P.E.I. thus creating employment opportunities and a sustainable economy. The corporation is managed by a twelve member Board of Directors representative of the geographic area and industry sectors of Central PEI (Electoral Districts 17, 18, 19, 20).
Mandate:
The mandate of the Corporation is to stimulate economic development in the central region of Prince Edward Island. It is expected that this organization will develop close linkages with all major businesses and economic related groups in it's area and implement strategies to enhance development in rural East Prince/West Queens regions.
The Corporation will be the official development organization recognized by both Federal and Provincial governments and will be heavily relied upon to establish priorities for its area. Other non profit groups in the area which are seeking government funds will be referred to the Corporation to solicit support and to receive assistance in putting together development proposals.
